What's important for you to know about me isn't what I have done but that I love what I do. I am fascinated by people; their interactions and diversions; their vast differences and astounding similarities throughout the world. Each person is unique, each man, woman and child has their own story....but at the same time we are all the same. That makes "People Photography" a universal language. I also have a great love of travel, adventure, and exploration. Experiencing new environments and feeling new light are a constant source of energy for me. While I shoot frequently in the studio, I try to bring my location expertise inside with me. There is an art to location photography that requires a blend of foresight, experience with details, creativity, ....and most of all flexibility. (...and you have to stay real calm ) For those of you interested in biographical details. I am a fiercely loyal U. of Michigan grad. (Go Blue!) I have been shooting International Advertising and Fashion since 1976 ( WOW...a 1/4 of a century now !) I was a founder and served as President of the Advertising Photographers of America (APA) Chicago Chapter, I served as National Vice-president of the APA, I wrote the photography column for the Chicago Sun-Times & served on the editorial advisory board of Photo District News. In 1990 I cofounded HotShots Imaging, a very cool company featuring a group of talented studio photographers and computer imaging experts. CHECK IT OUT at www.hotshotsphotografx.com My work has appeared in virtually every American magazine you can think of and, while I have won a number of advertising awards, my biggest reward is the wonderful clients I shoot with. (See "clients") I have been invited to teach seminars across the country from Brooks Institute in California to the New York Photo Expo.... this land was made for you and me. And I got to rub elbows with Mickey during my tenure as Artist in Residence at the Disney Institute!
